Modern Parenting Reboot

Modern parents are struggling to parent offline, let alone online – even though every day brings more insight into the toll that social media and gaming is taking on our childrens’ mental and physical health. We see it on the news, in our schools, and yes – on our own social media feed! We talk about it in parent groups, on dinner dates, and at sports functions.

But somehow, we just don’t know where to start, or haven’t had the time, or have good intentions but don’t get around to putting boundaries and safeguards in place to stop the worst of this digital age from impacting the ones we love the most.

Mandy Herold (The Connection Coach) and Kate Farina (Be in Touch) team up in an interactive and thought-provoking conversation around what happens when parents get it wrong, and what is possible when they get it right. Parents leave knowing how to get it right by –

✅ Getting on the same page as parents and as a family

✅ Reducing the anxiety around tech use and misuse

✅ Being clear on where and how tech boundaries need to be set and kept

✅ Understanding how to manage, filter and protect devices

✅ Getting some much-needed peace of mind.

✅ Keeping their kids safer and saner online!

  • positive review  Be In Touch is truly making a difference. I have worked with the team on some projects and have the greatest appreciation for the people they are and the work they do. Speaking from an Education Technology side, the value they add to the increased use of technology by learners is invaluable. Their message is clear - if you don't know what is going on in your child's online life, you don't know what is going on in your child's life.

  • positive review  First time to attend Be in Touch webinar on digital parenting, as a father of an 8- and 5-years old boys I was not really aware of how dangerously a digital world without control can affect my kids. I have now understood that I need to communicate with them and have agreement with gaming, as to how long and what games are safer for them. screen time is very important. I will strongly recommend any parent to follow this page for their children digital well-being.

  • My child's school had Be In Touch come in and talk to the students (including doing polls and surveys), and then followed that with a session for parents in which they shared some of the data, experiences, and conversations that came up. It made for a really relevant and focused session for the parents, with practical tips and solutions to assist them with keeping kids safe online. I also enjoyed the way they highlighted the partnership between schools, staff and parents, and prioritised children's safety and security over popularity and privacy. As a teacher and parent, I highly recommend Josh and Kate, and their sessions.
